De moeite waard of niet

Gehoorprijzen in Hanoi komen uit ziekenhuistarieven en klinieklijsten: het openbare nationale KNO-ziekenhuis, particuliere ziekenhuizen aan de Minh Khai en de Hàn Thuyên, een KNO-kliniek in Hoàng Mai, een gehoorcentrum aan de Trường Chinh en een huisartsencentrum aan de Hồ Mễ Trì. Ze prijzen onderzoek en oorreiniging (gehoortest, tympanometrie, oorsmeer en een prop in de gehoorgang laten verwijderen), maar geen hoortoestel, oorstukje of oordoppen op maat. Alleen de gehoortest heeft een Nederlandse prijs, en elke aanbieder zit eronder, de meeste ver eronder; oorsmeer en een prop laten verwijderen kost thuis niets.

Bij de gehoortest, tympanometrie en het verwijderen van een prop is het laagste bedrag het tarief van het openbare KNO-ziekenhuis, een prijsbesluit van het ministerie van Volksgezondheid; zie dat als de ondergrens. De rest zit erboven, Vinmec het hoogst. Kijk goed naar het label: sommige regels zeggen audiometrie of gehoorcontrole in plaats van toonaudiogram, en bij oorsmeer staat endoscopische reiniging naast gewoon verwijderen. Het gehoorcentrum noemt zijn testprijs een globale richtprijs, en de test is gratis als je hoortoestellen komt proberen. De vlucht reken je er zelf bij.
