Private hospitals (Vinmec at Times City, Thu Cúc on Thụy Khuê) print prices for eye examinations, refraction, cataract surgery and a laser capsulotomy; opticians list frames (Bello in Hoàn Kiếm) and a glasses combo (Kính Mắt Nhung Hiếu). Everything priced is cheaper than at home, by a wide margin for refraction, cataract surgery and a simple pair of glasses, and barely for a Ray-Ban frame. The page is thin: contact lenses, progressive glasses and laser eye surgery are listed without a Hanoi price.
Check what each figure is. The glasses price is a shop combo with a budget lens, so it is not like for like with a branded Dutch pair. Vinmec's examination prices are for a booked visit, and its tariff charges more without an appointment. The tariff does not say whether the cataract price is per eye or includes the lens, and the measurements before surgery are billed separately.
