The large ticket is the hearing aid itself, and it is the one item where the same device can be compared across countries: the Phonak Audéo rows name the model and the technology level, so a level 90 aid abroad is set against a level 90 aid at home, never against a cheaper tier. What the comparison leaves out matters more here than elsewhere. A hearing aid needs fitting, follow-up adjustments and repairs, and a device bought abroad is serviced abroad unless a centre at home agrees to take it on. At home most people pay less than the list price because insurance or a public scheme pays part; this page shows what a person pays without that help, as the seller prints it. Prices are per device, for one ear. Tests and moulds are cheap almost everywhere and rarely worth a trip on their own; they are here because they come with the aid.
